The Sky’s The Limit for Fall is robot season - students may start as early as September 29 and join as late as October 13 as part of the FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition - Talcott fields two teams of 10 students for the regional (November) and state (December) competitions.  


Over the year, Sky includes Meteorology, Astrophotography, Entomology as well as the robot team for the Trinity College Firefighting Robot Competition.  


Fall Robotics & FIRST LEGO League

Sep 29, Oct 6, 13, 20, 27, Nov 3, 10, 17, Dec 1, 8  -   Registration Closed

Students will learn how to design, build, test, and code LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robots, designed to compete in the 2018 "Into Orbit" competitions.  



Nov 3, 10, 17, Dec 1, 8, 15 -  Registration Closed

Learn to photograph the wonders of the universe!  Use Talcott three observatories and dozen telescopes, computers, photo editing software and planetarium software and projector to study the night sky, plus our alpha-hydrogen and projecting solar telescopes.  Class begins on the first Saturday and will meet either the scheduled Saturday or on Friday evenings depending on the weather.

Learn the skills needed to produce the next generattion of programs, apps, and devices. From Scratch to Processing, Arduino to Java & Swift, you will get the tools and training to produce your own programs that can solve problems, create games, follow sensors and run motors, lights, sounds and much, much more! 


Wild Weather

Research the weather at Talcott's mountain top meterology lab. Weather instruments, remote monitoring, full access to National Weather Service data, a 40-mile view and labs for forecasting, modeling, and tracking weather and climate give you the tools of a professional meteorologist!
